Recipients and processors

Personal data may be processed by service providers acting on behalf of the Site, including Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, and security). Such providers process data under appropriate contractual safeguards and instructions.

International transfers

Given the global nature of internet infrastructure, data may be transferred outside the UK (for example, to the United States) for hosting, caching, security, and support. Where such transfers occur, appropriate safeguards are applied, which may include UK Addendum/IDTA to Standard Contractual Clauses, reliance on adequacy regulations (including frameworks applicable to certified recipients), and technical and organizational measures proportionate to risk.

  • Cookies: retained in accordance with their individual lifetimes, as detailed in the Cookies section below.

Subject to conditions and exemptions under the UK GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

To exercise your rights, use the contact functionalities made available on the Site. Requests may require reasonable verification of identity.

Children’s data

The Site is not directed to children, and it is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 13.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device to ensure the Site functions properly, enhance security, measure audience and performance, and remember your preferences. Similar technologies may include local storage or unique identifiers. The Site uses strictly necessary cookies by default; any non-essential cookies (such as analytics) will only be used with your prior consent.

Types of cookies used

  • Strictly necessary and security cookies (always active): required for the operation, security, and accessibility of the Site (for example, load balancing, bot management, DDoS protection).
  • Preference cookies (optional): remember your choices where such functionality is offered.
  • Analytics cookies (optional): help understand how the Site is used in order to improve content and performance. These will only be set with your consent if and when such analytics are deployed.

Examples of cookies set via Cloudflare

  • __cf_bm (strictly necessary, set by Cloudflare’s bot management): helps manage incoming traffic to distinguish human visitors from bots; typical lifetime around 30 minutes.
  • cf_clearance (strictly necessary): used to verify a visitor has passed a challenge and to maintain access for the duration set; lifetime can be up to 1 year depending on configuration.
  • cf_chl_* (strictly necessary): challenge-related cookies used temporarily as part of security checks; short-lived.

Managing cookies

You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block cookies, delete existing cookies, or configure notifications before cookies are stored. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Site may not function properly.

Where non-essential cookies are used, they will only be placed with your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your browser settings and deleting cookies from your device.

Security

Appropriate technical and organizational measures are implemented to protect personal data and the Site’s integrity, including encryption in transit, access controls, logging, and reliance on reputable hosting and security providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and residual risk cannot be eliminated.
